How PDF import works

Step by step, from PDF to Google Calendar.

📤
1

Upload your PDF

Drag the PDF onto the upload screen, or tap to select it from your files. PDFs up to 20MB are supported — multi-page documents included.

🤖
2

AI reads the document

KalendarKid sends the PDF to Claude AI, which reads the full document and extracts every date, time, event name, and location it finds. This takes about 15–30 seconds.

✏️
3

You review before anything is added

Every extracted event appears on a review screen. Edit titles, fix dates, uncheck anything you don't want. Nothing is added to your calendar without your approval.

📅
4

Choose your calendar

Select any Google Calendar you have access to — personal, family shared, a calendar for each kid. All confirmed events go there.

5

Add to Google Calendar

One click sends all confirmed events. You get Google Calendar reminders, the events appear on all your devices, and you can invite others automatically.

📂
6

Access the import later

Your import history is saved. If you need to re-review or re-add events, they're available in your upload history for 7 days.

Questions about PDF import

What if the PDF has multiple pages?

Multi-page PDFs are fully supported. KalendarKid reads the entire document and extracts events from all pages.

Does it work with scanned PDFs (not native PDF text)?

Yes — KalendarKid uses vision AI, not text parsing. It reads the document visually, so scanned PDFs and image-based PDFs work the same as native text PDFs.

What if a date is ambiguous or the year isn't listed?

KalendarKid flags events where it wasn't fully certain — you'll see a review indicator on those items. You can correct the date before adding to your calendar.

Can I import multiple PDFs?

Yes — each upload is a separate import. Upload the school calendar, the soccer schedule, and the camp itinerary as separate files. Each goes through its own review screen.

How long are my PDFs stored?

7 days. After that, the file is automatically deleted from our servers. See the privacy policy for details.
